HELP University Debate Aftermath. ;)
Just a short post about the recent HELP Debate Cup! It's finally overr! :D Well, neither of the teams from our school qualified but look on the bright side, we managed to massacre a couple of schools. Well, here's the rundown of stuff that happened. :)
Round 1
Against SMK Seri Permata
The team and I were super intimidated at the beginning (what do you expect? These people were national champions of the KDU Debate Cup). Met up with the speakers before the debate and introduced ourselves. They were really nice people, especially their first speaker. Not to forget, their second speaker had the voice of Batman, EXACTLY LIKE IN THE DARK KNIGHT! XD Well, the debate commenced smoothly and in the end the debate well into our favor! :DD Our first tournament win ever. Obviously we were esctatic la! ;) And best of all, guess who got best speaker for the round? Weeee! My first official debate ever, and I got best speaker! :) Thank youu, adjuss! The best part bout this round was, Mr Corby (Jagan), got insulted for his "queen's English" by the chief adjudicator.

Round 2
Against SM Methodist Boy's School
Fantastic. Another champion school, apparrently, this school just won the recent UIA Debate Cup! Long story cut story cut short, we lost, they won. :( *wanna know the full story? FB or Twit me. I shall give you full insight on the "stuff" that happened* With some questionable comments from the judge, we left Day 1 with 1 win. Pretty pathetic, huh?
Round 3 (Day 2)
SMK Luk Yuk, Sabah
Wooohoooo! National champions again. -.- These guys were the Champions of last years Datuk Wira Debate Cup. You gotta admit we had a pretty bad draw, what are the odds of newcomers like us bumping into national champions for 3 straight rounds? :S We debated on a motion about multinational companies and the debate was pretty intense. OOH, NOT TO FORGET WE HAD AN AFRICAN JUDGE WHO HAD THE COOLEST ACCENT! :D His name was SALIO! it was a close fight and we lost on an aggregate of 2:1. But in this case, we really had to hand it to them. Those debaters all the way from Sabah used blowpipes to sumpit us man! :)
Round 4
SMK Bandar Baru Sungai Buloh
To keep it short, I'd just like to quote the chief judge, "This wasn't a debate, it was a massacre" Well, we practically massacred the poor debaters from Sungai Buloh with really sharp and insulting rebuts. :( I actually took pity on them for one moment. But we were fighting for 2 wins, so we really had to give it our all. Look on the bright side sungai buloh, at least we get to thrash you again next year. :P hahah! Now I'm just being mean. Honestly, they did quite well, considering one of them was only Form 3. :) Well done.
Anyway, all in all, the HELP debate was one heck of an experience I'll cherish for the rest of my life. Firstly, because of MEOW. (Avi, Jagan, Alvin, not a word. XD) Second, cos of the endless amount of jokes we thrashed out on the day and how we rated every single person that passed by. (yes, I know, we're lifeless people) and last of course, the awesome journey of debating with you guys. :) Its something I hope I'll have the honour to do again, although we had 2 losses. Cos I know we kick "gluteus Maximus" if it wasn't for Mickey Mouse and his playhouse Disney Crew. *inside joke intended*

Ice breaker game. :D It was really hilarious.
Limbo ;) Well, I gotta say I did pretty well for this one. Everyone had a good time showing how 'flexible' they were. And of course there were some aunties who were too shy to strut their stuff la. Cheerleader, Wei Xing had a fun time with this one ;)
And of course the pinyata prepared by Int. Soh Chui Pin especially for the seniors. Now I think you see what I mean when I say the party was supposed to be themed Halloween. The pinyata was padded with newspaper, so it took us a good 10 minutes to break it open to get at the goods inside. Thank you Chui Pin :P
